Our review of 2015

Nike Air Mags

As soon as we put the pen down for our 2014 review we’re picking it up again to do a 2015 review. Yes the year has really gone that fast and here are just a few highlights of whats happened during 2015.

Jan – March

To start off the year, we actually start on a sad note with the mass shooting that happened at the French magAdidas Yeezy Collectionazine Charlie Hebdo. These shootings would sadly be overshadowed by another horrific terrorist attack in Paris later in the year. Our thoughts and prayers go to everyone who has been affected by these attacks.

In February Leonard Nimoy the actor who played Spok in the original Star Trek sadly passed away aged 84 leaving a big gap in one of the most recognised sci-fi brands of all time.

March…well what would 2015 be if we didn’t mention Kanye West. Yes it was Yeezy Season but let’s be honest it’s been a whole Yeezy year. In March we had the first instalment of the new Yeezy sneaks in the form of the 750 boost which was then followed up with the 350 boost and the 950 boost. Which have been your favourite?

April – June

Barcelonea Wins Champions leagueAround April time FIFA, the governing body for world football aka the football mafia, was finally investigated properly by the good old United States of America and was found to be so corrupt that it gave a new definition to the word. The head of FIFA would later receive an 8 year ban from any football related activity.

Well May, only stands for one thing Mayweather and with that said Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather took on Andre Berto and beat him comfortably to claim his 49 victory and retire from the sport undefeated. We reckon he might return though in 2016!

During June, Barcelona FC won their third Champions League title in six years with a 2-1 victory over Juventus.

July – Sept

In July there was some very sad news that a lion called Cecil had been controversially shot on a reserve in Africa by an inconsiderate human being. Hunting remains a subject that causes a lot of debate but shooting an endangered animal, well let’s just say the guy needs to have a look at himself in Meek Mill vs Drakethe mirror.

Spreading over a number of months and falling into August the biggest rap beef of the year took place between Drake and Meek Mill. Many media outlets including several memes on social media would suggest that Meek on this occasion had taken an L… but what do you think?

In September one of the biggest technology/engineering scandals in the last 20 years occurred. It emerged that Volkswagen cars had a piece of software that allowed the car to detect when it was being tested for emissions and therefore would perform differently. Due to the scandal the Volkswagen group is being audited by several governments worldwide and has cost the company billions in fines and sales revenue.

Oct – Dec

Nike Air MagsOctober was the month when Doc and Marty McFly came to the future. Marty real name Michael J Fox, unveiled a pair of powerlacing Nike Air Mags that will be available to buy during 2017. All proceeds raised will go to the Michael J Fox Foundation.

November saw the return of Justin Bieber with his latest album ‘Purpose’. The 21 year old had his pal Skrillex do a lot of the production on this album, giving more of an electronic vibe, which in all fairness works really well. The album has smashed all types of records from sales, downloads and streams. Are you now a Belieber?

December saw the dismissing of the ‘Special One’ from Chelsea. During the 2014/15 season the same group of players had comfortably won the Premier League, however during the 2015/16 season and up to this point Chelsea, were at the bottom end of the Premiership. Reports say that Mourinho has lost the dressing room and top players were rebelling against him. A statement released by Chelsea FC said that is it was mutually agreed to part ways. We’re not so sure. What do you think?
