With the new football season fast approaching, football fans will be bursting with anticipation, to their team score the first goal of the season. But hold up wait…we’re already over 2014/2015 Premier League season, we’re looking to the future 2015/2016 to be precise. This is because for arguably the biggest football club in the world, Manchester United, will be having a blast from the past, to hopefully get back to their winning ways.
For the 2015/2016 season Manchester United’s kit will bear the three stripes of Adidas. After thirteen seasons with Nike, Adidas have taken over the reins with a kit sponsorship package valued at £750m over approximately 10 years (that’s a lot of money per year).
Man Utd’s badge is one of the most recognised sports emblems throughout the footballing world but this season it will be missing from the Champions League competition as they failed to qualify. Failing to quality means that United will miss out on monetary benefits from further sponsorship opportunities from Europe’s elite football tournament.
But when you’ve got a big kit sponsorship to steady the helm, you just need Mr Van Gaal to do the rest.
